He Brought Me Home

I wandered alone in the darkness

Way out on the mountains so cold,

When out of the dusk came the Savior

And led me again to the fold.

The night of despair closed around me

No light from the fold could I see

When out the dusk came a whisper,

You’re safe if you come unto Me.

The ninety and nine safely sheltered,

But one on the mountain of sin;

So Jesus, the Shepherd, came into the night,

And brought me home safely again.

Out of the darkness He led me,

Away from the coldness of sin,

And now in the shelter of His loving arms,

I’m safe with the Savior of men.
